Phone & Text Scams

Don’t let your phone become a trap

Scammers often use phone calls and text messages to reach seniors. They might pretend to be from Medicare, the IRS, a family member in trouble, or even a delivery service. Stay alert and never share personal info over the phone or by text unless you’re absolutely sure it’s safe.

Robocalls & Spoofing

Many scam calls use fake caller ID to look like a local number. If you don’t know the number, let it go to voicemail.

Fake Delivery or Prize Texts

“Your package is waiting” or “You’ve won!” messages often hide dangerous links. Don’t click — delete them.

Medicare or Social Security Calls

Real agencies don’t ask for personal information over the phone. Hang up and call the real number yourself.
